Barbeque Party - 1 February 2003

We had about 30 people turn up to this barbeque. It was a wonderful
evening, weatherwise. David introduced us all to croquet - and we had
great fun bastardising the game.

We have had positive feedback by all. I got a new digital camera that
day so click here for some pics of the night.

Christmas Party - 7 December 2002

Rainbow Connection closed the year with a Christmas Party. We booked out
a hall, and gathered for a party, with music and supper. We had an
"interesting" Santa to give out the gifts. The party finally wound down
at about 3am, without any incidents to report, which made this a party
that was enjoyed by all. We had about 50 people turn up, and we are
hoping we can maintain or improve on this. Awesome!!!

Third Gathering - 10 August 2002

Not a lot to report about this event. There was a disappointing turnout,
(especially considering the previous two) with absolutely NO women turning
up. However, I will put this down to confusing advertising. Perhaps we
can do better next time.

Second Gathering - 25 May 2002

This was much like the first event. A number of people turned up and
everybody got caught up in the spirit of the event and we didn't get
to address any issues. We all met new people and it was an enjoyable
evening for all.

We decided we needed to have the next event at a new location to give
the gracious hosts of the last two events a break.

We also decided that, to cover costs (phone line, ads, etc), that all
events will have a gold coin entry.

First Gathering - 20 April 2002

The first time we met was at a couple who founded the group's place.
There was a huge amount of people that filled the lounge, the dining
room, and the kitchen.

As expected, people seemed to form into their own little groups, as
they felt comfortable. This isn't a bad thing, as this is a social
group, and people should socialise as they feel comfortable doing so.

After a long while of socialising, one of the founders took control
and started the official meeting. It was decided that this would be
a social group, and,if people felt the need to, we could branch into
support roles.

We decided to meet a month later at the same location.
